An online devotional for writers

A Word From The Word

Give. Your gift will return to you in full.  (Luke 6:38, NLT)

A Word For Writers

Writing content for your website About page is full of surprises.

One of the biggest surprises is that this page is not about you at all. It’s the place on your website where visitors learn more about what you do for them.

The About Page is a surprise in writing content for your website. An online devotional based on Luke 6:38 with Word Wise at Nonprofit Copywriter #ChristianWriting #WritingTips #ContentWriting

That’s right … switch your gears and think of what you can give to your reader.

Typically, you may think of giving through the lens of finances or even giving of your time.

But on your About page (a good one), you can give of yourself by sharing your story. Not just the successful parts, but the confusions and hard times, too. (Here's my story.)

Your reader needs to know she is not the only one who struggles.

And if you’re smart, you can use the page to keep giving. Give away a lead magnet (a free information download), links to your most popular posts (information that meets a need), tips about where to get good deals or good tools, and a way your reader can contact you (to begin a personal conversation.)

If you focus on giving, you’ll discover an even bigger surprise in writing content for your website About page. Readers will want to engage with you. Pick your brain. Hire you. Refer you to their friends.

It’s one of the great truths in scripture: in giving, we receive.

What can you give away?

A Wise Word

Use your About page as a giving platform.

A Word To Pray

Heavenly Father,

You have given me so much and you continue to give to me every day. Help me to have a generous heart that makes a priority of giving information and support to my readers. Show me what they need. Let me provide it.

In Jesus’s name, Amen.
