Heart to Heart!
"Except I'm moved with compassion how dwelleth your Spirit in me?
In word and in deed, burning love is my need, I know I can find this in Thee."
The above is a quote from an old Holiness hymnal. It holds the key to effective communication, especially in the Christian realm and otherwise.
Firstly, you have to have a heart relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
Secondly, you communicate to others what God through the person of the Holy Spirit has communicated to you.
Thirdly, your heart has to be moved by what moves the heart of God.
To be in touch with the heart of people, means that you "you rejoice with those who rejoice and you weep with those who weep." You communicate with your "listener" or "reader" where they are in their life situation. Then present them with a "promise" from God's Word that is related to their situation.
Conclude with steps whereby they may realize the reality of the promise.
