101 devotionals that encourage and equip writers to write well

Writers need encouragement. And we need tools to equip us. Both of those are found in scripture.

That’s the basic premise behind Writing By The Book

I discovered this principle when I started writing. Biblical truths provide the cornerstone for our lives. I turn to The Good Book for practical help and encouragement in marriage, parenting, relationships … money and investing … our health and well-being … work life and time management and serving. Why wouldn’t I seek out help from scripture for my writing life – particularly since the Bible is a library of written works?

Once I started looking, I discovered how the fundamentals of good writing are woven into God’s Word.

And I wanted to share that connection with other writers of faith.

This book is a collection of devotionals for writers. Its purpose is to encourage you in your writing journey and equip you to write well.

These 101 devotionals combine the best “by the book” practices in the writing profession with God’s writing guidelines in scripture to encourage and equip writers to write by The Book – God’s book.

Each devotional includes a scripture, and illustration from the writing world, a summary truth to equip you in your writing journey, and a prayer you can use to apply the principle to your writing life.
